The Problem Power Corrupts Policies and Laws are put in place to maintain order and accountability. To Stop Corruption. Local 1033 must abide by the CWA Union Constitution and the Local 1033 Bylaws. It does not! See Know The Issues. Roeder's lust for power and maintaining this power is out of control. How? Because members have conceded full control to Roeder and the National Union simply refuse to enforce the CWA Constitution. Why? Because there a only a few dissidents outweighed by the apathy of the majority of the membership permitting taxation/dues without representation by the Queen. As you can see in Know the Issues, nothing about this Local and National Union remotely resemble a Labor Union. Only a few have spoken out, demanding representation. David vs. Goliath. The Boston Tea Party. The few believing that the work of a Labor Union must goes on. That the cause endures. That hope still lives that the little guys and their future generations get to sat at the table and get their piece of the american pie to live the american dream. If our Union continues on it's present course, the light on the little guy's future and future generations gets dimmer and dimmer and we will be left behind. A glimpse of some of Roeder's more egregious in your face tactics: Employs a corrupt former state employee and don't care who knows it, because she's the Queen. Sandy Coia entered a guilty plea to a third degree crime of Pattern of Official Misconduct for stealing $21,230. from the Department of Education. The Queen uses our taxes/dues to pay Coia $70,000.00 per year in salary and excessive overtime. To do what? Coia can't represent members because of her guilty plea. Many a state worker has been jailed for lesser crimes. Why is Coia rewarded with members dues for her crime? http://www.state.nj.us/oag/newsreleases05/pr20050823b.html http://www.state.nj.us/lps/dcj/releases/2005/attachments/Coia_Forfeiture_Order_082305.pdf Some believe this issue is not relevant. I beg to differ, because we are talking here of representing the little guy. Ironically, if your salary qualifies for affordable housing, the Queen doesn’t want you living in her Neighborhood. At one point the Queen wore two hats and didn't have a problem making promises to both members of this local and the citizens of West Windsor. When in Trenton as the Local 1033 President she talks passionately about equality. But as a West Windsor Councilwoman she doesn't want you living in her backyard in affordable housing. The Township of West Windsor was sued by Toll Brothers charging them with violating their fair share quota of permitting affordable housing for years. Roeder was the loudest and most vocal against building these homes, while at the same time duping these same individuals as President of this Local. A Township resident said:
In Roeder’s own ever changing words:
The Supreme Court of the State of NJ disagreed with Roeder and the Township, deciding August 1, 2002 that the township failed to provide a realistic opportunity to have affordable homes built because of the adoption of zoning laws set up to block construction. http://lawlibrary.rutgers.edu/courts/supreme/a-103-00.opn.html Roeder is never in compliance with the law either in West Windsor or Local 1033. If she doesn’t care whether you have an affordable roof over your head, do you really believe she cares about your concerns as employees? No! Roeder doesn’t care, as evidenced by the fact that there is no union to represent the members of this Local. .THE SECOND PROBLEM The Executive Board Members. Do you know who is your Board Representative? Do you know what they do? Well, they should be governing this Local Union, keeping the Queen in check. The short version of what they actually do is get a free meal every second Tuesday of each month; they burp, go to the bathroom and make this ungodly sound and then they govern by voting in agreement if Roeder said the sky was purple. |
